Details
A 1950s studio portrait, black and white, silver-gelatin grain and all, with a caption typed beneath it like a line pasted into a family album. Vintage fifties manners, present-day rudeness.
Somewhere in the 1950s, someone sat for a studio portrait and never once let on they needed a drink. Gin. Medicinal. sits beside them regardless, set in bold typewriter type like a caption clipped from the family album.
The design wraps right round the mug, portrait filling one side of the handle, the diagnosis on the other, so it reads whole no matter which way it's picked up.
Size and capacity
11oz (325 ml) ceramic, glossy finish.
Care
Dishwasher and microwave safe.
The print
Printed on both sides. The design is fused into the glaze, not printed on top of it.
