Details
NIL DESPERANDUM, banked in a mock-heraldic banner above a small steaming kettle wreathed in laurel. Underneath, smaller, the translation: never despair, the kettle's on.
It's Horace's actual motto, borrowed from a Roman ode and put to better domestic use. Genuine two-thousand-year-old wisdom, now hanging about on a mug rack.
Part of the Latin Mottoes (Loosely Translated) series, so it lines up nicely on the shelf with the rest of the set.
Size and capacity
11oz (325 ml) ceramic, glossy finish.
Care
Dishwasher and microwave safe.
The print
Printed on both sides. The design is fused into the glaze, not printed on top of it.
