Details
A 1950s studio portrait, black and white, silver-gelatin grain and all, with a caption typed beneath it like a line pasted into a family album. Vintage fifties manners, present-day rudeness.
A studio portrait straight out of somebody's family album, the kind with proper grain and a soft vignette, like it's been kept in a drawer since 1958. Beside it, pasted in like a caption under the photo: "Charming. In your way."
It wraps right round the mug, portrait on one side of the handle, caption on the other, so both halves of the compliment travel together.
For the relative who takes a backhanded compliment better than a straight one.
Size and capacity
11oz (325 ml) ceramic, glossy finish.
Care
Dishwasher and microwave safe.
The print
Printed on both sides. The design is fused into the glaze, not printed on top of it.
