Mid-century advertising style, redrawn: a fifties illustration with the sparkle and a line it would never have printed, in black and red. Retro sass on a mug.
A woman pats her friend's hand, smiling in that way that means the opposite of comfort. Above it, in proper 1950s advertising script and bold capitals: CHEER UP, DARLING. IT ONLY GETS WORSE.
Mid-century line work, a scatter of star sparkles, and a single deep red accent, all wrapping right round the mug so the joke keeps going no matter which way the handle sits.
For anyone who prefers their sympathy with a bit of bite.
