Details
Jane Austen said it in Emma: surprises are foolish things. The pleasure is not enhanced, and the inconvenience is considerable. Two centuries on, still true of every unannounced visitor.
The line sits inside a ring of regency laurel sprigs, with a small popped party cracker beneath the flourish, a nod to the surprises she never much cared for.
Part of a matching set of Austen quote mugs, so it pairs neatly with the rest on the shelf.
Size and capacity
11oz (325 ml) ceramic, glossy finish.

The print
Printed on both sides. The design is fused into the glaze, not printed on top of it.
